Help! Where should I move???
I'm in Alaska right now and will have (God willing) my teaching certificate next Spring.
Last week in was 40 below 0 and I'm about ready to uproot my life and move to a warmer climate.
The last straw was the $940 dollar fuel bill that I received after one month of furnace consumption.
So here is what I want to know:
Where should I move???
I want to move somewhere where it is pretty warm all year, but is not infested with poisonous creatures.
Prefer to be around intelligent, progressive people.
Also would like to avoid apocalyptic hurricanes and tornados (Is there an e in that...having a Dan Quayle moment).
Lastly I don't want to live in a large city (don't mind being close to one).
Suggestions???

Somewhere around Nashville or Atlanta. Still have "seasons" but pretty warm year around. Do go way south or your A/C bills will match your heating bills in Alaska.

Grass Valley, CA! I live in the woods man! Awesome fishing, hunting, and naked hippie girls. The snow line is about 5 miles above town. Great schools. Mostly rain in the winter and a temp anywhere from 28 ( rare low) to 99 (high). Housing and gas are a bit high though. Look it up.

How about Minnesota, it's a little chilly in the winter but the summers are great and you would be close to all the vikings games. The houseing market is very affordable(probably that way in most places right now) and we have some of the best public schools in the country that you could work at.I'm in Alaska right now and will have (God willing) my teaching certificate next Spring.

Hawaii... 85 to 90 all year long and beautiful. If I could, I would move there in a heartbeat, when the kids are grown.. that is where I will be.

As far as ND and MN, I'd love to be closer to the Vikes, but those places really aren't that much warmer than Anchorage.
Tennessee is intriguing to me.
This survey I filled out said that Chatanooga is my ideal living situation, but I've never been farther East than Michigan, so I'd have to scout it out first.Rock out with your cock out!!!

I think several of us "regulars" here are going to go to Nashville to watch the Vikings play the Titans next year. Maybe that would be an ideal time to come down here.
