Thread: Helmet of the future? Or just a bizarre oddity?

Hey, I'm all for the better protection, but that thing looks like it would break on a Ray Lewis hit!

That helmet is real ugly. Concussions are a big concern for the NFL, I'm not sure that thing would help much. Seems to me the worst injuries lately have been neck injuries, if they can limit those kind of injuries then they have something worthwhile.

You guys are absolutely brilliant. By simply looking at the helmet, you can accurately judge the strength and durability of a product, regardless of research towards its clearly stated purpose of safety.

Couldn't they make the facemask the same color as the helmet? Then it would look alright.

It kind of sounds like the the same people that talked about the newer Schutt ,Adams style and even the revolution helmets looked bad but nmow everyone is wearing them.
If it help protect the player I am all for it. The game changes. remember they once wore leather helmets. Peopel hated the idea of going to a hard plastic for helmets, and then facemasks. Times change.

Actually, I think the TIE Fighter helmet would be seriously badass, LOL

Even the Green and Gold can't save this helmet's look.
