Thank goodness for costco. It was on sale, I had a coupon for $300 off, and I ended up paying $1700 for it. what a steal! Best part is that Costco has a customer satisfaction policy, which means that I can bring the TV back in a year or two and get my money back. every cent. What a sweet deal. So if that diming is an issue, I'm not stuck with a bum tv.

I bought a membership to Costco just for the gas.

They do not fluctuate as much when gas prices take a quick jump! I have been saving as much as 15 to 19 cents a gallon. When the pricing start to fall, I go someplace else as they do not drop as fast either.

I drive an expedition and this has saved me sometimes $2.50 to $4.00 on a tank of gas.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Dude that is exactly where I need to go.

My folks have a membership there.

Even better the military base, NO TAXES!!!!

You have kicked my brainpan into high gear!

    Thanks Colorado!
If you plan on getting a TV at Costco, double check their return policy. I've been looking at 23" HDTVs for the last month to take out on my patio when watching the games while grilling out, and Costco has one that I might be interested in. When I asked about their return policy, they said it would be changing in January. I get different answers from different people when asking about it. Some say if I buy one before they change their return policy in January, that I'll be grandfathered in with their current policy. A different person there said I could return it in a "reasonable amount of time", but wouldn't give me a definate time frame.

I currently don't belong to Costco or Sam's club, but I'm considering joining Sam's Club to buy the same set for the same price that Costco offers it. The difference is that for an additional $79 I can get a 3 year extended warranty at Sam's Club that Costco doesn't offer for the same $850 23" HDTV that I'm looking at. Warranties for more expensive TVs will cost more than $79 at Sam's Club. I'm not sure if it's a waste of $79 on my part, but then I'll at least have something in writing that enables me to return it if I have to. Some people have told me they've been able to return things years after at Costco without any warranty, some other people told me they weren't as lucky at Costco. I wasn't sure if I should chance it or not. Costco has about as good of prices I've seen on HDTVs, but ask a couple of different people at Costco about their return policy if you plan on buying one there to double check if you'll be covered or not.

I pressed the guy who was helping me about this. He explained that Costco has a customer satisfaction policy and not a return policy per se. I was told explicitly that if I'm not happy with the purchase I can return it 2 weeks from now or 2 years from now. The guy further elaborated that there is no set time period. Instead, he says that it's what "your conscience can bear." When I probed into this, he admitted that some people don't have a conscience and that in fact Costco will accept a returned TV 8 years from it's date of purchase if need be.

Don't take my word for it of course, but I explored this part of the purchase in depth and I feel pretty comfortable about taking the Costco employee's word.
