actually, as few people know, st. patrick's day was on saturday this year.

Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá ’le Pádraig or Lá Fhéile Pádraig), colloquially St. Paddy's Day or Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385–461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17.

The day is the national holiday of Ireland. It is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland, and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Montserrat, and the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. In the rest of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States and New Zealand, it is widely celebrated but is not an official holiday.
It became a feast day in the Roman Catholic Church due to the influence of the Waterford-born Franciscan scholar Luke Wadding[1] in the early part of the 17th century, and is a holy day of obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland. The date of the feast is occasionally moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patrick's Day was observed on 3 April in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and is happening again in 2008, being observed on 15 March.[2] March 17 will not fall during Holy Week again until 2160.[3]

It will always be the 17th to me.

No church is going to tell me when to celebrate my Irish heritage.
Shhhhh, or the Spanish Inquisition will get you for heresy.

I've sung that song before. Usually to a bar full of drunk friends right before closing time. For some reason, it's at that point that they request that one and "The Three Song".

    The Three song

Well there once was a man who was looking for a wife
and he knew what he had in mind.
A pretty little thing who would love him all his life.
He knew not what he would find.

So he went to an inn where they kindly let him in
at the sign of the lion's den.
A girl he would see, she was probably a three
on a scale from one to ten.

So he ordered up a beer, but his vision still was clear
so he ordered up one pint more.
When it passed his lips, he was staring at her hips
and decided she was probably a four.

Well, when that pint was through, he decided fore to woo
and near to her he came,
and since she was alive, she was probably a five,
so he asked her for her name.

Well, she looked him in the eye, but she gave him no reply,
then the brought him a glass of wine.
He was really in a fix, she was looking like a six,
so he said "will you be mine?"

After drink eleven she was looking like a seven,
in fact she was really great
After one more round, suprisingly he found,
he was sitting with an eight.

When he asked her to dine, he was sure she was a nine,
so he reached for his ring and then
He drank another ale, vowed his love would never fail,
and he praised her as a ten.

So now he has a wife who will love him all his live,
and a long life it will be.....
for when the ale had cleared his head, he wished that he were dead,
'cause he married a minus three!

    hooray. happy amateur night.

If you're looking for me I'll be drinking at home tonight, far away from the cavalcade of cheap-green-beer-swilling, need-an-excuse-to-get-drunk-wanking masses of fools. Keep your sloppy drunkenness and puking on strangers the hell away from me.

P.S. Guiness, clocking in at a whopping 4% alcohol by volume, is for spineless pussies.
    :P

edit: Mike (below), you're exempt from the previous comment.

Ahh "The Scotsman", yes I have sung that a few times as well, a classic.
But I am not sure if I have ever heard "The Three Song" and I couldnt find it on you tube, do you know where to find it being sung.
I want to hear the tune that it is sung to.
    It sound interesting.
