In the nfl that's not a catch. i say no not the greatest.

how would that not be a catch in the NFL?

By rule, as long as you have posession, the ball can touch the ground, and he clearly had 'possession', as that was pretty firmly grasped.

I however, can't believe that draws that big of a crowd. Nice catch and good effort for an old fart, thats for sure.

The video is from the UPA (if they are still the sanctioning body) world championships, that's why there's a crowd.

And it's a helluva catch. However, in Ultimate, there's actually a catch called "The Greatest" which is where you jump in the air to make a catch while going out of bounds and toss it back into play (to a teammate) before landing. Did that once during my ultimate days, during a summer league game wayyyyy back in the early 90s.
