I can honestly tell you, unless you recently suffered some serious knee injury, you'll be able to pick it up again in no time.I drive that much for work on any given week; it's nothing..
Now the fact that I have not skied (sp?) in 6 years may be dangerous... but fun nonetheless.
Thanks - I appreciate the good words!
Skiing is like riding a bike, it never goes away.
As a ski instructor i've had lots of adults come because they haven't skied in over 10+ years and want to start again so they can ski with their kid.
They're surprised that the first run they're doing as good as they were 10 years ago.
Now granted the equipment has changed but you'll manage.

Congrats Thor!
My prior next door neighbors were both psychiatrists. She was an Army Captain who worked at Walter Reed and he was a civilian who worked at Johns Hopkins and both were completing their internships.
We enjoyed talking to them at neighborhood parties due to the stories they would share. I remember he would always say that the philosophy at Johns Hopkins was to Medicate and Isolate.
Maybe a half truth there?
But seriously, what a reputable school and they kick jiggly butt in Lacrosse.
Baltimore is really not such a bad place and there is always plenty of things to do. We have learned to love it here and if this is where you end up, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here also. Of course, that is what free time you get which I hear isn't much.
Best of luck, hope you get your first choice. If you end up in Baltimore, maybe we can get together for a game.
Good thing you are going to Omaha Thor, I was just trying to make you feel better about possibly going to Baltimore. It sucks here! Well most of the time
Best of luck.

Re: Great Internship News - I'm moving to Omaha, Nebraska
Heh, I appreciate it V.MD

I figure in a system where not even 80% of the people get A SPOT, I can certainly handle my second choice!
It's one of those things where Hopkins just has name recognition regardless of who/what/when/where; whereas where I am going is going to be known within my field more specifically.
That will probably change with a few of the people they brought in a year ago, but it doesn't matter.
Ultimately, it's about the degree.
I'd rather make my name for myself than have it be because of where I worked...
(but hey, that helps too).

Congratulations my friend.Well everybody, I'm not going to Baltimore - I'm actually going to Omaha, Nebraska.
I got my 2nd choice, which considering 21% of the applicants did not get ANY site, is great!
I'll be working at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, part of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The nice part about this site is that most of their faculty are actually ex-Johns Hopkins faculty
It's pretty nice - very much an up-and-coming facility which I suspect will become even more prestigious in the next few years.
Plus, it's close to home, close to my fiance, and heck... close enough to hit a home game
If anybody lives in the area, please let me know.
I'll be needing to find a place to live!
I am very happy for you.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
