Great Internship News - I'm moving to Omaha, Nebraska

    Hey everybody,

For those of you who knows, I've been waiting since January to hear on what was happening for my internship to complete my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology...

This morning I got news that I had matched for an internship position (which was great news, as there were between 500 and 1000 more applicants than there were positions, and only about 3000 to 4000 positions total in North America).

I don't know where exactly I will be yet, as I will find out Monday, but I'll be either in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins, Nebraska at the Munroe-Meyer Institute (part of the U. of Nebraska Medical Center) In Omaha, NE, Beatrice Developmental Center (near Lincoln, Ne), or in St. Paul at Human Services, Inc.

I'm really excited... one more step closer to coming back home to MN!

    Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Great news, Thor, very happy for you. What, no NY? I'm sure we could use another good Clinical Psychologists here.
Here's hoping you get back to Minny as soon as possible.

Nah, my fiance is in med school in MN and we're planning on living there... Plus there weren't any internship sites that really interested me up in NY, sorry!!
That and it's who you have connections with... we have none there!

Congrats. My daughter is in California today visiting and interviewing for the same doctorate program at U of Cal., Davis.
She has already been accepted at the U of Minn.. She's going to one or the other but not sure which one.

Good luck to you and once again, congratulations.

Tell her it's a tough path, lots of political BS you wouldn't expect coming in, but it's worth it in the end...

The U of M is a great program, but so is UC Davis...

Tell her the best of luck... if she has any questions, feel free to ask; I never had anybody to help me through that part... Being filled in on some of what to expect could help her immensely!

Thanks Thor. I'll let her know.
