Graphic/Web Designers!!

Well some of ya know im a senior is HS.. Gotta start looking for info on what I wanna do after HS.. I've been searching but can't really find much..

Anyone a graphic or Web designer? If so is it hard to get into and do you have any good schools to recommend to me?

I took some classes on Web Designing, it was pretty cool. You're talking about designing websites using HTML and all that stuff right?

Sucks to head about Shock...

But back to the original question, are you interested in visual layouts or the backend logic of web applications? I am a Software Engineer, and I develop Java logic for web applications (J2EE). It is a competitive job field but I love the work!

Any art school in your area should have a program for it. I'm going to an art College for either Movie Production/Audio Production/or Design. Not completely sure yet tho.

Hey Vikez4Lyfe. I'm a professional graphic designer and have been in the biz for over 7 years. I have a BFA in fine arts from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Its an excellent school that I'd recommend. Its also a private school and therefore expensive but you can obtain scholarships and/or grants to help out. You can still explore that option no matter what school you choose. The industry is highly competitive however you seperate yourself by talent. There are a lot of hacks out there who think just because they can use a desktop publishing program that they are suddenly designers. They most certainly are not! It means they know how to use a program. The problem this creates is market saturation and that can slow the job search because companies have to wade through the qualified candidates. That said, I say if you have a passion for it and would like to pursue it as a career, go for it. Its extremely rewarding and I'm glad I chose to do so. Its a big decision.
