Okay, you talked me into it -- IF I can afford a ticket and can get a parking space near the tailgate. I refuse to walk to far without an escort as I now know how bad the Raven fans are.
    ;D
Fedje, I'm sure if you have a cell phone you could call Caj once you got there & either he or another PP.Oer would be glad to come to your car & escort you to & from the game.

BTW, is your name written inside your Helga hat yet?

    Re: Graduation Today!

    Congratulations Fedja!
I love your dedication and accomplishments, I also love your "area of expertise".
I was attending some training at Fort Lee, VA and became fascinated with the Battle of Petersburg (the battelfield is right next to the fort).
I had long admired Col Chamberlain's stand during the Battle of Little Round Top, so imagine my delight to find he was so insturmental in the Battle of Five Forks at Petersburg.

I have a close buddy in North Dakota who is so Facinated with George C. Custer (he can detail Gen (Col) Custer's entire carrer and loves all the minute details of his final campaign.
I can readily understand your passion and drive.

    Congratulations again.

I think the kids were a little jealous today. But the example I set is out there for them to follow.

-What's next? WORK! I have part time work for a local Co. doing research for them.

-Will be checking with the local community college about teaching a history class.

-I also have exclusive access to Civil War letters that have never been touched (or read) for the last 50 years. I will be scanning them into my computer within the next few weeks, writing a scholarly article about them to get published and recognized as a historian.

-I'm helping a writer in NJ with research for his Civil War book.

-Teaching myself Norwegian with the books that they use at St. Olaf's. I have the set for two years of classes.

I thought about the Ravens game, but that IS where I got assaulted and robbed! If I can swing the money for a ticket and gas to get there I may come. I have to wait and see about finances, Juniata is not a cheap college being in the top 100 colleges of the country.
    ;D

If you come to the Baltimore game, the Viking men on this site who will be there will protect you...and you will be fed royally with my famous Cajun gumbo and red beans & rice.
I might even be convinced to make Cajun "dirty" rice as well.
LOL! I don't even think I want to know what that is. It sounds like it could be wild rice smothered in white sauce.
"dirty" rice is just a name that they use in New Orleans...actually we call it "Rice Dressing" in my neck of the woods.
It is basically white rice and a mixture of ground cooked meats all mixed together...it is heavenly to say the least.
I have my own special mix that I developed for the meat mixture and it is a big hit every time I make it.

You can park right next to us...we will probably set up in one of outlying lots (Lot O was pretty deserted so we had a whole section of it to ourselves last time for the Christmas night game that I met you at).
It allowed us to arrive at different times and still park together and it worked out great.
That may be the best option for all of us here.
As for tickets, we will attempt to sit in one or more groups so that every one of us will at least have a few PP.O buddies sitting next to us.
    More details to follow.

Sure all you Civil War fans can ask questions. ;>) I especially like researching the battle at Gettysburg. They have done wonders with the park the last year, cutting trees and brush to make it like the time of the battle, and a new Visitors Center!

I'll have to drive up to Gettysburg again soon...the last time I was there the new Visitors' Center was still in its planning stages.
Also, one of my ancestors was in the battle there...a Captain for the Confederate Army who supposedly was eventually imprisoned in the Old Capitol Prison in Washington, DC.
I have never dug deep enough to get the entire story though...maybe you can point me in the right direction.
