that was an awesome game. i couldn't believe that run at the end of the game, with a backup QB in and everything! GOOOOO GOOOOPPPPHHHEERRRSS!!!!!!!!!

I found it SOOO interesting that with the game tied and 2:38 left in the game, ALL OF A SUDDEN, the game clock goes out??? Interesting, huh?? OMG, that Russell run was a thing of beauty ....

it looked like it belonged to Minnesota already, had the colors and the M on there?

Back in 1903 the Wolverines went into Minnesota to play the Gophers, and the Michigan coach was paranoid and didn't think that Minnesota would provide them with clean drinking water for the game, so he sent out his assistant to buy something to put clean water in. He bought a little brown 5 gallon jug. The game ended in a tie, and the Minnesota equipment manager found the jug the next day and took it to the Minnesota Athletic director. The Michigan coach called and said he wanted it back, to which the Minnesota AD replied "You'll have to come win it back." Ever since then it's been tradition.

I'm a Wolverines fan, so this is kind of painful for me. Oh well....very disappointing year for my Blue.

thanks Itrey. i was just wondering what in the world was the big deal behind the "jug". that's pretty cool how the tradition has been kept for over a hundred years.

i never get to follow anything the University Of Minnesota is doing down here in New Mexico this is the first time i've ever even tried to follow college ball. the schools down here suck so U of M is the only other college that i would consider rooting for.
