Nothing more incapacitating then a shot to the throat.
Totally imobilizing.

That guys adams apple must have shot out the back of his throat!
nice takedown by the Las Vegas PD Officer
Cracking the guys skull on the asphalt like that certainly would immobolize him as well. It looked a bit excessive to me.
Did it split the guys head open or knock him out?
I see two sides to it.
The one side being that he's a punk and would not listen.
The other being that was that a little too much?
I think the cop may have been a little amped up since he was being filmed.
not really...he would have done the same off camera just like I would have.
If anything he lightened up because of the camera.
If you think this standard textbook take down move was excessive, tell me what you would have done.
Taser, Pepper Spray, Baton to head, Punch in face, Walk up to him nicely and ask him for the 5th time?
I'm not trying to be the devils advocate here...I would really like to know how you can take someone down without it looking excessive and without exposing your weapon side to the subject?
I think the officer's moves were perfect.
No cheap shots, no extra punches while the subject lays on the ground.
Of course I guess I am biased.
I am from the old school of commen sense thinking.
That is when you just got done fighting someone and a cop rolls up, play time is over.
When he approaches me after I just broke the law and asks for me to take my hands out of my pocket...I just do it. ???

Anybodys head that hits the asphalt that hard would probably be:
A. Knocked the F out.
B. Have his head split wide open
C. Both
All because he didn't listen & take his hands out of his pockets?
The fight was over. It still seems quite excessive for obstinance.

Singer, you will not win this argument trust me. Police officers can do no harm ever. They are justified in every single thing they do and you owe them everything. Bail out before it is too late.Quote:

I used to teahc use of force for my department back when I was a cop.
This police officer did exactly what he was supposed to do.
Singer, you say that the fight was over, but that doesn't mean that the threat is gone.
Nobody knows what is in that guys pockets when the cop was asking him to remove his hands from his pockets.
Nothing? A knife? A gun?
Keep in mind that this isn't just somebody on the street minding their own business. It is somebody who has already demonstrated they would use use force on another person.
As much as I wish our police officers were omnipotent, they are not.
The cop did not know what kind of threat he was facing, and when the suspect refused to take his hands out of his pockets he had no choice but to assume the worst.
You are also assuming that that guy cracked his head on the asphault.
Watch the video again, and I will walk you through the takedown.
The cop begin the intial push with his hand to the suspect's throat.
Moving a suspect from a high point moves the center of gravity up on the suspect's body, making it easier to topple him.
The cop then places his right leg behind the suspect, forcing him to go over backwards, and causing the suspect to bend at the hips.
Try this at home sometime... it is almost impossible to be pushed over backwards like that without bending at the hips.
This causes the suspect's butt to hit the ground first, absorbing the majority of the fall impact.
Yes, his head does follow through, and more than likely hits the ground, but despite your last bost, he was not knocked unconscious, nor was his head cracked open (you can see the back of his head... no injury or blood that I could see).
The takedown was clean, and given the choice, i would much rather be taken down like that than by pepper spray or baton.
