Good luck to Minnesota Deer Hunters this weekend!

Minnesota rifle season for deer starts this weekend and I am leaving early tomorrow morning and I wanted to wish everybody that was going good luck and be safe!

Rifle season? I thought Minnesota was shotgun only, especially during opening weekend. At least that's the way it was in the SE areas I ever hunted in over there.

The Southern half of the state is shotgun only and Northern half is rifle, but it is referred to as the rifle season.

Ahh. Deer hunting opener.
My ritual is to put on my blaze orange hat and vest. Tuck some trail mix into the vest pocket. Head out to the woods and climb to the top of the highest deer stand..............................and scream;

RUN, BAMBI RUN!!!!! ;D

I love how the sounds carries over the vastness of the prairie.

Minnesota Woman shoots a 24 pointer buck with a bow.

This is a nice buck and a young buck would have liked to seen what it would have looked in a couple of years.
