You should see some of the stuff like that we use at work for simulations.

Truth be told it is pretty good but nothing compares to what the kids have at thier fingers (Xbox, Playstation etc).
All have the same platform were as we try to make stuff like that run across differnet mediums/paths and different networks.

Job security for me though.
