Gale Sayers
So I'm out shopping on Sat. trying to find the perfect gift for my boyfriend.
First I went to Dick's sporting goods trying to find a framed picture of Walter Payton, or maybe a jersey.
They had no pictures and most of the jersey's were of scrubs or he already had them.
So the guy working there tell me to go to Sports N More at the mall and they should have the picture I'm looking for.
I wasn't quite sure that I wanted to brave the mall, but since it was right there I went.
I locate the store I'm looking for and see a guy sitting there signing autographs.
I had NO clue who he was, so I go back outside of the store to read the sign.
Hehe... it ended up being Gale Sayers signing autographs with all the proceeds going to charity.
So I got my boyfriend a personalized autograph from a legend.
I'm pretty proud of this.
Even though I'm a die hard Vikes fan, it was kinda neat meeting him.
Granted I never saw him play because he was in the HOF before I was even born, but I've seen Brian's Song a million times, and he was definitely one of the greats.
Does this make me a traitor?
lol

Re: Gale Sayers
Excellent gift.
You are already a traitor for dating a bears fan, drop him before it's too late!!!!
I think you may be given a reprieve since he is already in the HOF and everyone knows the Bears are going home early this year.

Re: Gale Sayers
The best thing about it is that you were shopping at a store called slick willy's sporting goods.. ;D This filter makes me roll sometimes..

All jokes aside.. That was a very nice gift for your b/f.. No you are not a traitor.. It would be no different if a Bear fan bought you a Viking jersey for a gift..

Re: Gale Sayers
There are really two answers to the question. The short answer is yes, yes you are a traitor. The long answer is..........well I don't really have time to go into the long answer but it was Christmas, and it was for the man you love, and it was out of the kindness of your heart.......so yes, yes you are STILL a traitor........lol

LOL Del.
I kinda felt like one.
There was this guy standing in line behind my friend and I.
I was telling her how excited I was, but I meant at the perfect gift... he thought I was talking about meeting Gale Sayers so I had to turn around and tell him I was a VIKING fan and it was a present.

Re: Gale Sayers
That was a good gift TNT!
It would be the same as your Bear's fan getting you and autograph of Fran Tark or Chuck Foreman which I am sure you would appreciate either ones autograph. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Traitor?
No way!
I would even love to meet him and get his autograph!
Sayers was an unbelievable player!
IMO he was the first player to really have moves.
Man...that guy was awesome!
