    Galbladder removed?

    Anyone had their Gallbladder removed?

Doctor just called and my Gallbladder is not working correctly. So I have to have it removed. The Surgery is set for July 14th. I guess since this is my only set back so far after a year from the surgery I guess I can't complain. I just hate having to go under the knife again Oh well it sounds like they will be able to do it arthroscopicly so the recover time should be only about a week max.

Yeah it can be hit or miss. Depending on the surgeon they will sometimes just remove it while they are in there. But some don't believe in taking a good organ if it looks fine.
From the people that i know that still have theirs it is about 50/50 with those that have to get it taken out later

The new surgical buzz word is "NOTES (Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery), but it is still a very "experimental" surgical technique. It is a procedure in which a physician (surgeon or gastroenterologist), will go through your mouth, vagina or rectum and take out your gallbladder or appendix with a flexible video scope working through a small hole inside the body.

You better hope they don't put you out. You might want to put on a chastity belt.
