    Flash Earth

I have been using Google Earth for a while now and although it's impressive the detail in my home town is extremely low. Then I found out about Flash Earth, admittedly it doesn't have the slick interface of Google's effort and it is a bit slow to load but what it does offer is high resolution images of my local area.

Now maybe I'm in the minority here as regards Google Earth's coverage but if you are in the same boat as me give it a try, you might be amazed at what you'll find.

It's probably because you live in a rural are or a small town. Google Earths images as far as the detailed shots are concerned, are targeting major & larger cities. It was supposed to be improved as they got more satellite imagery, but even the details of the major cities is outdated.

I haven't checked, but It wouldn't surprise me if NYV still shows the twin towers standing.
