I read this earlier today and at first I was like WTF?
But after reading the article being able to keep your gun in your locked vehicle is just fine with me.
Coming from a small town we had different reasons for keeping shotguns and stuff in the car but as long as they aren't locked and loaded at work I don't think it's that big of deal.

    Since when wasn't that allowed?

MN law says you can carry a gun in your car as long as it is unloaded and in a case.
There is probably more to it though...

On public property, this effects private buisness.

    I see...I guess.
Still seems silly that you wouldn't be allowed to do that in the first place.
What harm is a gun locked in your trunk for cryin out loud?

It's a small chance, but the thinking is if you fire an employee or that employee snaps you don't need him having access to a gun that quick.
There's a reason "going postal" is a phrase in our culture.

Re: Fla. lawmakers OK take-your-guns-to-work law

My first thought was that it makes sense and was suprised that it was previously illegal to keep a licensed gun in your car.
But once I read it and realized it was really stopping a business owner from banning guns on the premesis I though it was kinda crazy. People can be fired for smoking a ciggerette at home off-duty, but you can't tell them to leave the gun at home when they come to work?
