Re: Federal Grand Jury Indicts Barry Bonds
Maybe he'll end up being found guilty, in which case I'll change sides, but the man has never been convicted of a crime.
Innocent until proven guilty is only used for people we like I guess.
And as far as the pictures of him when he played in 1991 compared to 2004 those are loaded pieces of evidence.
If you can show me a picture like that in a time frame of 2-3 years I believe you.
But how many players in baseball have bulked up while they get older, a lot.
13 years is a bit of a stretch considering there is people defending Shawn Merriman who was actually CAUGHT, and showed noticeable loss of mass in a short period of time.
And if he is found guilty I think the real shame is a player like Bonds forever remembered as a terrible player who took steroids.
Like him or hate him he has always been a great hitter, and the first season he hit over 40 HR was at age 29, right in the starting of the power years of a player.
With how consistently he played over the years unless he took steroids his whole baseball career I just can't jump on the bandwagon even now about him taking Steroids without being proven without a doubt guilty by the court.
And like I said, if he's found guilty I'll change my mind.
And it would truly be a shame if a great as player as Bonds was, to take Steroids late in your career just for one or two records is stupid.
If Bonds doesn't have the single season or career record but isn't accused of steriods, he would have still been a first ballot HoFer.
