The color doesn't do much if you're blind. The braille currency might look good on paper, but how long does it retain it's form?well....canada doesnt seem to have this problem, we have braille and a nice colour assortment, i think u guys need to switch

Once it's in circulation for a while or in a mans wallet, I would think they would eventually be flattened anyways.
I kind of disagree with the term discriminatory here. It's more of an issue that could be addressed to further aid the handicapped. It's not like braille money is intentionally not done to discriminate.
Do foot pedals in a car discriminate against people with no feet or the ability to use them?
Do all restaurants that don't have braille menus discriminate?

Re: Federal appeals court says paper money discriminates against blind people
well, with the braille atleast is making an effort.
the colour does really help actually, if u ever end up in a cab drunk after a night of partying, its easier to distinguish if ur giving the man A $10 or $50. and the assorted colours may also help those that r colour blind.
but u have a point. just because everyone cant b satisfied doesnt mean its discrimatory.

some things need to fall out of place for other things to fall into place.

it does look like monopoly money... lolI saw the new bills from Canada for the first time this year on a college trip, cool stuff.
Although one of my friends in the group said very loudly in the middle of a hotel lobby, "look, monopoly money."
Thankfully Canadians are stereotypically friendly.

I would say the braile bumps would last a few years anyway.
I just pulled a 20 a 10 and a 5 out of my wallet.
The 20 has very noticable bumps, but its also rather new.
the 10 looks to be a year or two old, but the bumps are still fairly noticable.
The 5 is from before the braile started going on bills.
