Did you live in MN at the time?

Yeah. Family's still there. I get back when I can to watch all my favorite teams (Vikes, Twinkies, Wild, T-Wolves, Gophs . . . ). I still have everything from that game . . . tickets, programs, you name it. One of the best games in Series history (if not THE best), and one of the best nights of my life--with my dad, and everything. Pucks game saving catch, and home run, made it all happen. Thanks to him.
I was at that game! It was sooo exciting.

    Re: Favorite Kirby Puckett memories

I really don't have a great memory of Kirby Puckett, seeing as though I am a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan. To be honest with everyone, I actually hated him for a long period of time for what he did to my Braves in the 91 series. That of course was my Ultimate Braves Fan Adrenelin running. He was what every baseball player had ever hoped for to have in a teammate. He had class, dignity, and a love for the game that is very hard to come by these days.

Although I have a favorite baseball team, and player that has nothing to do with the Twins, or Kirby Puckett. I am still a baseball fan in general. That tribute that ESPN did for him was very emotional. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that Kirby Puckett is dead at age 45. THat is way to young to die of something like that. All I can say, is that I hope that what happened to him, that it was sever enough that he didn't have to suffer at all. I wished he could have pulled through it, but if not then it would be nice to know that he didn't know what was happening, and that he didn't suffer.

    God Speed Kirby Puckett

You will always be a HOF in true baseball fans lives..

One of my best memories was when he helped beat VikesfaninWis favorite team!

Man, what a team we had back then!

Any interview ever given by Puck. You didn't even have to see him play one out of a baseball game to know what type of passion and love he had for the game, his teamates and the fans in Minnesota. He will truely be missed. I have a cat that my wife got me when we first moved out together a few years ago, his name Kirby.

I would say the home run in Game 6, if he didn't do that, the series probably would not have continued.

I am listening to KFAN radio in MPLS, and they just played the funniest thing in honor of Kirby: Back when he retired in 1996, David Letterman did his top ten list as "The Top Ten ways to mispronounce Kirby Puckett" - MAN that was hilarious!!!!

My favorite Twins and Kirby moments will last with me forever. I was stationed overseas in 1987 and 1991 when the twins won the world series. Being far away from home , young and with uncertain times it was nice to have my home team of the Twins to brag and talk about. Many of my letters home to friends and family were about the twins and Kirby.

Thanks PurplePeopleEaters for the sig AWSOME!!

    Re: Favorite Kirby Puckett memories

I love the fact that Kirby refused to take off days while the Twins were at home because he did not want to disappoint kids that only got to come to games that one day a year.

Kirby epitomized the way you should play the game and there are so many memories of him growing up in Minnesota.
