Fargo bar refuses to play patriotic song
Not that I actually go to Bucks anymore... but I used to frequent it.
Now I definately won't go.

It sounds like the policy is more about timing that song choice - they are supposed to play up tempo music towards the end of the night. When Jimmy Perhus heads out tonight for a going-away party to mark his departure for a second tour of duty in Iraq, the North Dakota National Guard sergeant will skip Borrowed Bucks Roadhouse in Fargo.
Perhus, who farms near Carrington, N.D., and his brother, Shawn, remain irked by an incident a couple of weeks back when they and a group of friends gathered at the bar for an early send-off.
It was after 1 a.m. when they asked a disc jockey to play a Toby Keith song, either “Courtesy of the Red White and Blue†or “American Soldier.â€Â
“They said, ‘No, we’re not allowed to play that music. It doesn’t make us any money,’ ’’ Shawn Perhus recalled.
“I’ve never in my life been in a place that would not play that song for a soldier. To me, that’s pretty unpatriotic,†said Jimmy Perhus, who will leave in about a week for Iraq as part of the Fargo-based 191st Military Police Company.
...
The brothers said the situation became heated, especially when one of the DJs on duty played a song by the Dixie Chicks, a group that generated flak after its lead singer criticized Toby Keith’s music and President George Bush for their stance of the war.
But apparently the DJs threw the Chixie D!cks in there afterwards just to piss them off.
The guys is going back to Iraq for the second time in a week, and they couldn't even play one request for him.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Fargo bar refuses to play patriotic song
We live in America, and the only thing patriotic in this country is cash money.
Sad, but true.

What kind of bar is this?
I have had problems with DJs before. Some only play the music they want to hear. I am sure he played that song to piss the guy off.

Re: Fargo bar refuses to play patriotic song
DJ's are people who always wanted to be musicians but never had any talent. They are just bitter people who sit around, play other people's music and take out their frustrations on others.
But Toby Keith sucks.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Employee mentality!
Tough to blame that one on the Buck's franchise but....
Maybe frequenting a locally owned bar or night club would have been a better experience for them.
Too bad mom and pop (stores) are just about dead.
Maybe they do have a policy at Buck's, but policies and rules are meant to be broken and legs are not.

That's just stupid..........while were blaming him for being unpatriotic we should blame him for the only Krispy Kreme in ND for closing.
Natalie Maines needs to be kicked in the ass.
