Fake Headlines
Didn't mean to offend anyone with my recent fake headline re:
Rain Man
I see it was locked.
It was to illustrate a point.
I get very annoyed as you did with fake headlines. They may be funny
to some, but they annoy the crap out of me.
Mine was lock (as it should have been) Yet these live on. Why??
"Jerry Glanville interviewing for Vikings Vacancy"
"Vikings Talk with Moss" (although "true" it was meant to deceive.
I'm all for the rules, just wield them equally.

Re: Fake Headlines
But they are wielded equally.
If there had been a link to an article that had been along the lines of your headline, your thread would have lived on.
These other threads headlines are based on what are said in the articles. And it's all done in good fun.
I fall for them from time to time, though as I have been a member longer it still happens less.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Re: Fake Headlines
The thing you have to remember with social sites like this, is that there are going to be other people that you must interact with...
In any situation such as this, there are bound to be folks that go about things in a way that you do not prefer, even though it is well within the rules. That is what the ignore function is for.
Your thread got locked for lack of content. Those headlines are not fake, they just have a double-meaning. Your headline came out of nowhere.-Sno

Re: Fake Headlines
No problem.
And now that you know the rules, you can start playing the game if you want.

Misleading headlines are truly annoying and belong on 3rd grade websites.
I thought this website was cracking down on these, but apparently the ONE poster of a majority of these crappy threads refuses to grow up.

0. None.
Get your panties in a wad over something so trivial.
If that's grown up I want no part of it.
FYI, I have never, yes, never, posted a headline that was false.
I also post it in the correct forum.
Also, by far the majority of my posts (>99%) have nothing to do with a misleading headline.
If you can't handle it than whine to someone who cares, because I sure don't.
Ban me.
Worry more about posting content in football related posts rather than whining about trivial crap and pulling the immature card.
This is a football site.
It is a game.
It is not that serious.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

not ONE of the headlines and articles which Prophet posted (and Cajunvike, as well) was fake or wrong.
Those articles are posted in the correct forum (which this thread is NOT - should be in The Clubhouse) and you should be able to discern that it is going to be a zinger based on that.
As "Jerry Glanville interviewing for Vikings Vacancy" (for example) was CORRECTLY posted in the College Ball forum, you should be able to tell instantly that it has nothing to do with the professional football team we love, the Minnesota Vikings.
Yes, you can feel foolish if you fall for it.
I have done the same myself, many times on this site.
