Actually doesn't look too bad from the rear or side, but that front end is downright scary.

Don't see where they get that. The problem with these hybrid cars is when you have to replace the battery. The Prius battery lasts a few years and costs about between $5,000-7,000 to replace (depending on who you listen to). Even now that they've added solar panels (to run the radio and a/c), the life of the batteries is a huge cost concern.resembles a grimacing beaver

I can't find anything to back it up, but I have heard that is largely a myth. The batteries have had very very few problems, they almost never need to be replaced. In any case the first 100,000 miles is covered under warranty."C" wrote:

The best part about buying a prius is how well they hold there value. If you bought an 06 at invoice price($20,000) today's bluebook value is $17,800-$18,350. Find another car that holds 90% of it's value 3 years after purchase. At one point I know that people were selling there used Prius for more than they originally paid because demand was so high.
MSN general info on prius.

Cars.com listings of actually prius's for sale. Unbelievable how much they want for some of these with high mileage.

Too simple, it will never catch on.

Well if you want one that actually works (and you're not concerned with asthetics) you can try building one yourself like this guy did.
