I didn't see me in any of those pics either. I was born & raised there & still work there today, as I have for the last 25 years.

Your best bet to find him is on weekends in the local Wal-Mart store. That's where he works & I see him the most there.

    I didn't know that.

It is a neat paper. I found a gem on Thigpen in there the day after the draft.
That is why I have it bookmarked.

    Re: Eye on Winona

    I can relate to just about all of these;

You know you're from Winona if..............

You liked hanging out at Wal-Mart more than the Winona Mall.

You've had a party in the Godfather's basement.

You've gone laser tagging in the back of a used computers store.

You don't think it's weird to have most of the town's elementary schools
named after presidents (Washington-Kosciusko, Madison, Jefferson).

Jerry Miller is your mayor, has been since you can remember, and will be
for eternity. And that's all you know.

You have several museums in town but you've forgotten what the insides
look like or you've never been to them.

Cotter and Winona have been rivals since the beginning of time.

You've participated in the rivalry, if only to keep the tradition alive.

You know how Winona got its name and that the statue of Princess Winona
    in central park.

    You know it's pronounced "We-no-nah," not "Wy-no-nah."

You know Winona Ryder was named after your town.

You know there used to be a Red Light District.

You know that Al Capone contracted syphilllis from one of your whorehouses.

    Sugar Loaf is a rock.

Wisconsin is a 5-minute drive away.

    You have a deer park.

You're used to seeing the park of Prairie Island completely flooded.

    You're either Christian or Atheist.

You knew how to spell "Mississippi" by first grade.

You didn't know there was foreign food beyond Chinese and Mexican food.

Steamboat Days is the town's biggest celebration.

Because you used the fireworks for that, you don't have any left for the
    4th of July.

You have the second-oldest newspaper in the state. And it still has
bible stories on the front page.

You try to eat at Bloedow's as often as possible. And the fact that
Krispy Kreme had to shut down makes you happy.

You know that maple long john's are doughnuts. And that they taste really good.

You complain about the college kids and how they make everything worse.

Yet half your graduating class went to a Winona school.

Statistically, your town is 94% white.

    You have a boathouse community.

Your weather in a year ranges from -30 degrees to 105 degrees.

You have biked/roller bladed/ran countless times around the Winona
    lakes.

You have an airport but no one really uses it to get to places.

You have a train that runs to Chicago twice a day.

You know which halls of which schools are haunted.

You listen to Z93, KROC, and KG95 if you have to.

You hate your superintendents because they never give enough snow days.

You have so many "suburbs" that you don't bother learning them all.

Your town is divided into East and West.

It's a lot of work to drive 5 minutes to the other side.

You know what really goes on at Garvin Heights.

You hate the police, especially because they will take a ruler to measure how
far away your car is from the curb just to give you a ticket, even when there
    are 16 year-olds smoking a block away.

You love how Rock Solid is supposed to be so great for teens, yet the teens do
    drugs right outside the building.

You have 4 Subways, 3 McDonalds, and 2 Dairy queens, but no good restaurants.

You hate the movie theater, and you also know there's nowhere else to go.

You've seen snow during the summer (at Bud King Ice Arena).

You've had a snow storm in May.

A Kwik Trip is a gas station/convenience shop.

The "Cities" are just 2 hours away.

You've heard of the Great River Shakespeare Festival.

You've gotten mad about how there's nowhere to park at the Public Library.

You knew the shortcuts when there was road construction on the highways.

You've stayed in the "Tower Room."

You've also stayed at one of the hotels, even though your house was 5 minutes
    away.

You've been to a "Fun Night."

You still wonder exactly what a Winhawk and a Herky are.

Your Burger King got shut down down for embezzlement.

You were sad when TCBY closed.

You know exactly where Paul Giel Field is.

You know there are more bars than churches.

By "going to the beach," you mean going to the beach by the river or lakes.

    You say "same difference."

You know that most people end up back in Winona even when they say they
    hate it.

You have made a fool out of yourself at ShopKo,Target, Super K, an
Wal-Mart--possibly all in the same day.

You can't find good clothes in Winona.

You're not from the city, but you're also not from the country.

You're used to seeing a huge steamboat behind the parking lot of the theater.

You hardly notice the "beauty of the bluffs" anymore.

You still have a half-bridge constructed across the river that hasn't been used
    in ages.

You think your zip code is kind of cool: 55987.

You've gone trick-or-treating in a winter jacket and snow pants with
    your costume underneath.

And as a Minnesotan, you know an endless amount of Iowa jokes.

Winona is kind of a small town with a population of around 27,000 & usually the daily rag isn't worth reading IMO.

Winona is right on the Mississippi river & was very well known for it's whore houses back in the day. Especially for a small town. Al Capone contracted syphilllis from one of those whorehouses.

Yeah the airport is small. The company I work for is right next to the airport. It's primary use is by people joy riding in their private planes or business men who fly in on charters.
