I would love to see Holland advance because then one of italy and france don't. but i doubt that happening.
Czechs and Portugal should advance in A, but the Swiss have home field and one of the home teams will advance.
So in that case, I will take Germany and AUstria in group B.
Group D should have Spain winning it, and then any of the other three can make it. It may come down to the scores again Spain for who gets through.
Austria is the lowest placed team, they have no shot IMO

Plus don't forget romania they are a big underdog in group C, they are tough

Well since the US is not in this I am going to cheer for the Germans since that is mostly what I am.

Don't forget everyone to support the US and there quest to make the World Cup. The Americans start World Cup qualifying against Barbados on June 15 at Carson, Calif., then play at the Caribbean island on June 22.

So mr-holland, has the Dutch squad had a big argument and fallen out with each other yet? As that seems to be what happens at every other major tournament they appear in.

    Re: EURO 2008

Only a couple of days to go now and after some consideration I'm going to nail my colours to the Dutch mast for this tournament. May not be the sexiest pick based on some of the teams but one I can live with
    ;D
    Besides anyone who can
have a chance to upset the French and Italians is always good by me
    lol
Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Maybe it's the fact that Dutch people are more likely to speak their minds than us Brits but the general perception here is Holland's football team has had more than it's fair share of arguments over the years....

Ever since the 1970s the Dutch have been burdened with scandal, including the 1990 and 1994 World Cup campaigns and the 1996 and 2004 European Championships which were hurt by infighting.
British Newspaper report from 2006 World Cup

Of course this is maybe a stereotype that has no merit, you would no better than me after all.

While I'm at it here are how some other International teams are viewed by the British press and public...

Germany: Always do well in big tournaments usually after a slow start, efficient but not too flashy, never loose a penalty shoot-out.

Spain: Always underachieve on the big stage, rubbish at penalties.

Italy: Ultra defensive, not afraid to cheat their way to victory, usually win 1-0, scoring on the counter attack after soaking up pressure for 80 minutes.

Portugal A good team to watch but would run Italy close in a cheating contest.

France: White flag waving surrender monkeys.

    Re: EURO 2008

The only thing i know of that there was one incident.
In 2006 Marco v. basten did not started Ruud v. Nistelrooij against Portugal and he was not satisfied by his play.
Everybody hated van basten for it, and i still do. V. nistelrooij
is now back with the team...

Mark v. Bommel is not with the team and so isn't Clarence Seedorf, they refused to play under van basten because well he has no confidence in them even though they are 2 of the best midfielders we have...

That is all i can say and i think alot of story's are blown out of proportion...
