I have done my part to educate the masses in the ways of Marrdro thought when it comes to our beloved Vikes.

    ;D

On to bigger and better things..........I got Wildwoman a Wii for her anniversary present.
Let me tell you it wasn't easy either.
I was on several waiting lists and have bid my jiggly butt off on E-bay with no success.
(No way anything that is bought on E-bay is a bargain by the way)

Anyway, I actually scored my big achievement via Sears for cripes sake.

It is a bundle (I think I actually know what that means) that comes with 2 games (equals 14 total games) mostly the sports stuff, 2 types of controllers (2 each) and associated chargers/holders etc.
She wants to get a fit board for it, boring (I do want to play the game were you bounce the ball with your head
;D), but I want to get some other games as well.

Couple of questions for you wise gamers.......

    a.
    What do you recommend?

    b.
Anyone had any problems with the things that I should be aware of (over heating/TV screen burn in etc).

Please don't tell me how much better the other things like Xbox and PS3 are as I heard it all from Wildman.
I think you made the right choice going with the wii, especially for an "older" person such as yourself. ;D
Never had any problems with the wii over heating or programs not working, unlike my PS3 which I have to send back(grrrr).
I like shooting games with the wii because of how you actually get to aim instead of using a joystick like other consoles.
Resident Evil 4(theres a newer resident evil game out now that I havn't tried) was one of the first games we got and it was a ton of fun, but I doubt wildwoman would like it much because it's full of gore and suspense.
Links Crossbow is really fun, it's basically a simple(easy to learn) target practice game that comes with a "gun" that attatches to the wii remote and nunchuck you already have.
Getting it online is a must as you can download old school games(nintendo, super nintendo etc), plus their is the "everyone votes channel" where you answer simple questions and then try to guess how others would answer and every few days you get the results and get new questions. Plus you can use it to go online, check the weather, even browse PPO(no keyboard makes it tough to post though).
I'm not a big fan of Madden on the wii, but some like it. I havn't played "Mario Galaxy" but bloodyhorns has it and raves about it, and the animations are good.

Guitar hero is cool but expensive(about $100 for one guitar and you'll want 2).

Now thats a quality post (except for the old comment) with lots of stuff in it I didn't know, especially the online stuff.

By the way, I bring Wildwoman to alot of Vikings games.
    She has a long memory.
Wait until I tell her you said she was old.
    She will hunt you down.
    Just ask BLV.
    ;D

I have a 360, but I am really into games and the whole thing so I know a couple of things about the Wii

    1. Games
It depends on if you want the have fun games or the good games that will keep you locked in

    1. Fun Games
Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart,
    2. Good Games
Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Legends of Zelda

If you go the Guitar Hero route, DO NOT GET AEROSMITH!!!!!!!!!

    3. Problems
Theres no really technical problems with the Wii because it doesnt need as much power as the 360 or PS3. Just make shure you put the infared bar in a good spot.

    My Suggestion
Dont play it non stop because I know friends who buy it and then 1 month later sell it because they love it but it eventually gets boring if thats all you play.

    Hope this helps
if i wanna play some mario cart, imma wip out the old 64 and have some fun lol

Hahaha, I was thinking that too.

The Wii Mario Kart just isn't the same. The steering system sucks.
See, thats whats wrong with this place.
We can't ever agree on anything...... ;D

Does it suck bad enough were you don't recommend it or is it good enough for a cat like me and Wildwoman who don't game that much and don't really care about response stuff?
you should be fine, if not, buy some old gamecube controller for 10 bucks and play. I think that works

Thank you Josdin for the sig

Does the bowling come with the bundle pack or do I have to get that separate?

It's funny you had such a tough time getting one...

My roommate had one and we played a bunch for the first week, but now no one touches it. We play the playstation 2 and 3 more than the Wii i think... not even sure why, it's a fun system. (oh, that's right... I'm a lazy pile of pooh and don't want to move around)

    With that said...

Wii bowling is a lot of fun with multiple people

    Madden isn't too good

Guitar Hero - possibly the best of all the systems
    I know.
Who would have thunk they would have been that popular these days.
The guy at EB Games says it is because of the Fit Board craze.

Another vote for Bowling and Guitar.

The last gaming I did was Mario golf on a Nintendo back when Wildman was like 7 or 8 years old.
    Before that it was Pong.
