Re: the end of life as we know it is near.......

The level of the tradgedy is not the issue of being through worse.

Tragedy is tragedy, whether it is 2 dead in a school shooting or 3000+ dead in the 9-11 bombing, or even the sunami that hit in a country other than ours, we still deal with the fact that it is all tragedy and it is all dealing with mortality.

It is going to be a victory when NO is back to normal in a year or so, it will take a long time but it will get back there.

One thing to think about here in hindsight, this has been a fear for NO for a long time, will the levy that holds the water back hold. Maybe some more thought should have went into how to make it ready for a category 5 hurricane so this wouldn't have turned into a worse disaster than just a hurricane itself. They were close to having this happen in the floods of 93 (correct me if I am wrong) but I think their pumps were able to keep up with the little water that was getting in.

Oh yeah, people thought the world was coming to an end in 93 also.

I'll never get burned like that again. I learned my lesson after I lost all that money on the "Y2K...See, I told you it would be bad!" bumper stickers I had made up.

LOL 6-Kings did you remember your thermos and the chair and the remote...

Got that right, there's never anything good on TV, never anything good in the movies, never anything good on the radio anymore.

Naw, he's just pissed that Bourbon Street probably won't be ready for Mardi Gras next year, and he may have to go through a Girls Gone wild shortage.

    For you, zim...

It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - REM

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
    light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
    and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
    slam, but neck, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

(It's time I had some time alone)
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Personally, I think that you shall all die horribly and that I will be the only human being left in the world. I shall be the LORD OF THE COCKROACHES!!! And I shall rule them with an iron fist!
