It is possible...in this great country of ours...to bleed purple AND be a conservative fundy, or be a happy heathen hippy, or a sensible centrist (me). There is room in this country for all of us...no matter what the idiot Limbaugh might say! Don't worry about Utah btw...its LDS homogeneity will disappear with the impending Hispanic influx.

I mean it is sweet because it has a Beaver on the back, but what the hell man, if this happens to me twice a year just think about the massive scale this could be happening on in the united states.
There is a trade off though -- for any who have been to Canadian border towns, merchants there generally accept US currency and will give you the exchange rate of the day, without charging a lot for. So, this works both ways.
Even in Duluth Canadian change is easily used instead of American, most folks can't even tell the difference unless you look closely. The soda (that's pop to those folks in MN) machines can tell the difference though...I can't tell you how many million of times I've tried to buy something from a vending machine just to realize that it's a *&%@# Canadian quarter. Yeah, I wonder the impact on the economy...

I live 20 miles from the border here in Michigan and NO ONE takes those beavers or any other canadian currency.I go over to the casinos in canada and spend them there.Won 2,500 bucks last year in one.NO TAXES!! In the U.S. if you win over a grand be prepared to bend over and take it hard, plus spend about 45 min filling out tax forms. Here is a good saying for you all to contemplate.(Definition of an American) A person reponsible for everyone but themselves.
If winning isn,t everything, why keep score?

That's true, but sadly our hispanic friends that are moving in at record pace tend not to vote, so as long as the voting majority is LDS which they are, then the state will continue to attempt to maintain the morals that they believe in.

The size and influence of the church here is too big, the members may ultimately be outnumbered soon, but I don't see anything changing.

    Re: Drink the KoolAid children.

Cajun - You are taking huge leaps and have huge holes in your story. So subtle messages are not allowed because you fear that MAY LEAD TO SOMEONE CREATING A LAW!! Then we shouldn't have any messages by the govt. because they may all lead to laws.

Cajun you are interpreting the constitution not reading it. You got it part right, they are not to establish a religion. Where does it say they can not promote a religion? And again Cajun, that doesn't mean having the ten commandments in a court house is making you confrom to any religion. And that subtle message thing, give me a break. If you are that in tune to the subliminal messages you should be reading tea leaves and not practicing law. People have to remember that this country was founded on Judea christian principles, you are going to have some remnants of the founding of this country. And the majority of this country is christian so there will be people who want to express that. A statue in a court house does not take away any rights of our citizens.

(Del, Did you see the space between paragraphs, trying to help your eyes)

People don't have to consider abortion a sin to outlaw it. Abortion may be considered murder to some and every one is against murder, right Cajun. The left talks about how we use fear to win elections, but the left uses it way more than the right.

If you don't vote for our guy religious zealots will come to your home and force you at gun point to the local church for mass. The poor will be hunted down by dogs and hung form the nearest tree. Again, I am no Bush fan but he has spent way more on the poor than Clinton. Check it out if you wish. LOok at the entitlement programs. You may not like Bush but he is far more liberal than the media leads you to believe.

You are right the states do have the power to start a state religion. And believe it or not I would agree with you cajun, That should not be done. I think that a person decides what they should believe in not the state. This is America!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

There s only two things stopping you - fear and common sense!! The Truth you CAN"T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

    Tark-

    I did notice it.

On a sad note if you space it out it makes it easier for people who love to grab bits and pieces of your post and pull it out. I say make em work for it if they care that much

Seriously though I was kidding I read your posts regardless of spacing.
