Damn!
I doubt he has a legitimate chance to over throw a world class runner with real legs, but just the fact he's made it to that level is amazing!

Re: Double amoutee to race with able bodies
What is an amoutee?
Is this some kind of weird French Cajun word or something??

Re: Double amoutee to race with able bodies
I might really sound like an asshole here.
I've actually heard that with those legs they can run faster than they normally would be able to. This guy still has full use of his quads and hamstrings, the main muscles used in running, the prosthetic legs actually weigh less and offer more "bounce" than a normal human leg would.
Once they learn to master the use of these prosthetics these amputees can really move.
I have a feeling that he won't be allowed to compete in the olympics.
Its an amazing feat nonetheless, and it's great to see someone overcome a disability like that.
In the article it said he was born without fibulas, I'd like to think there is some type of replacement surgery for that, but maybe it didn't exist when he was an infant, or they just didn't want to keep replacing it as he grew? I'm no doctor, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but amputation is a pretty extreme measure. The tibia is the thicker bone in the lower leg anyway... but again, I don't really know what I'm talking about.
