    Does Anyone Here Play Lacrosse?

I live in a town where no one even knows what it is, but I'm moving to a new school and its very popular there. It looks really cool, but I don't know to much about it. Does anyone here play, and if so, could you teach me a little but about the positions? (specifically defense)

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

    Thanks,
    Dave

Re: Does Anyone Here Play Lacrosse?

Well it's pretty popular up here in Canada, and I've played it several times in gym class (never been on a team or anything).

From what I remember, it's VERY similar to hockey, except for the obvious exception of the ball and the stick. There are three positions I think (I can't remember how many of each) - the forwards are only allowed to stay in the opposing team's zone, defence can only stay in their own zone, and midfield can run all over.

On defence, the best thing to do is try and knock the ball out of the opposing players' stick by hitting it with your own stick. It's a lot trickier than it sounds. Just practice throwing and catching - that's the hardest part to get used to.

It's a really fun game, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. But be sure to wear gloves cuz otherwise it hurts like a B*TCH!

    Thanks PPE for the sig.

I luv lacrosse, its one of the greatest games. Just as many good hits (well a little less) than in football. But just as much fun.
