    Re: Direct TV vs Cable

I've kind of in the same position you are. Our cable company is a monopoly and they are the only show in our area unless you
use dial-up for your internet. So I bit the bullet and got Direct TV but I also got the most basic cable I could get at 9.95 per month and then I was able to get the cable internet, too for an additional $30.00. Check with your local phone company, a lot of them have packages for fast internet and satallite TV
too when you bundle them with your phone bill.

My brother just got ATT and he really likes it. I am thinking about switching. It is cheaper and has more channels. Directv and ATT both have NFL Network. Give up on shitty ass cable.

I'm glad to see so many positives about DirecTV since they'll be at my house tomorrow for hook-up.
I was kind of pissed that I was "forced" (in order to get the Vikes anyway) to switch to them on a 2 year contract because of the Sunday Ticket monopoly but it can't be too bad if so many long time users are happy with it.

I've done Cox in 2 places Dish, and DTV.

DTV has the best service; sometimes you'll deal w/ a lazy installer but if you complain they ALWAYS fix it....
Just be there and keep yourself around the install people so no corners are cut (kind of important regardless)....

for HD, it's hard to beat DTV.... Dish just released something new, somebody has to fill me in on that one... BUT
    in a nutshell...

I'd go back to DTV if I could.

    Re: Direct TV vs Cable

Have had Charter Cable, and Mediacom Cable lately, but neither can compare to DirecTV.

We got DTV when we moved to the country, and I can honestly say it is the best TV provider I've had bar-none.
Not only does it have the most HDTV channels of any TV provider, it also carries the BigTen Network, NFL Network, all the regional sports networks, and it is also the only carrier with NFL Sunday Ticket.
They make all this available at a very competitive rate.

    Get DirecTV.

    Chuch.

    Absolutely love it.
Been military since '92 and have moved with it everywhere state side.
Great provider and very easy to work with.
Plus, Sunday Ticket.....need I say more?

    Directv Rocks!
I have had it for 10 years now....
    I also have cable....
My family room is pre-wired to allow two TV's on cable for football sundays and three Directv boxes for Sunday Ticket games......of course the Vikes are on the 52 inch flatscreen!
    ;D

You will not be disappointed with Directv!
    SKOL!
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.
