Deleting files from an ipod from a used ipod i just bought

So, i traded in my 8gig ipod for a 30gig. The new one has 2400 songs, movies etc. on it. However, i want to take some of the songs and podcasts off of it. Is this possible, when the files are not on my computer? If so, would someone enlighten me, please. I use my ipod at night when i deliver usa today. I'd rather not have to constantly push the next arrow, i just want to be able to listen to tunes, maybe occ. watch a movie while i deliver. Thanks

yes, plug your ipod in to your computer, and open up itunes.
from there navigate until you're browsing the songs on the ipod.
You can select songs and delete them from this screen.

I use a program called IDump.

It does quite a bit and it's FREE!

Re: Deleting files from an ipod from a used ipod i just bought

The problem, is that when i hook it up it says there are errors. The music from my old ipod comes up, but the music from the new one won't. I like some of the music on this new one, that's why i don't want to set it back to factory and wipe out the 2400 songs, movies, games, podcasts and whatever else is on it. If i can't figure out something, i'm going to return it. I could use the $85, but i could use an ipod more.
