Re: Deer gets revenge after hunter shoots him

I was teaching a guy how to hunt.

He shot a nice 10 pt with his blackpowder.
Problem was, when he went to pick up the bucks horns, he forgot to touch the deer's eye with the barrell.

Needless to say the buck stood up and pinned him against a tree.
I guess I should have told him that a deer with its eyes shut is still alive and if its eyes are open its probably dead but you should touch the eye ball anyway just to make sure.....

    As to my friend.
I still take him in the woods and he suffered nothing but a bit of good ribbing around the fire.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

He deserves it. If someone put 2 bullets in you and you could still fight for a bit longer, wouldn't you try to rip open his skull too?

    Hunt Cows (cattle)
You dont even need a gun.....you can hunt them with a claw hammer if you want to.
When is the last time you heard of a cow attacking his reeper!
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

And then wonder why guys get "Buck Fever" lol.

It sucks when the hunter becomes the hunted.

    LOL GOOD!!

Not a fan of hunting.. I dont get why people think sitting in a tree for hours in the cold is fun and most of the time not seeing anything

And if you do you get a couple shots off at an animal.. I would just shoot at targets seems funner I can control everything

Not nagging on hunting... I just find it boring and pointless unless you are doing it for the need of food

Agreed. Hunting in America is one of the most bourgeois things on earth. "If we don't kill them, they'll die!"

I believe hunters and folks who fish often know more about the animals they hunt, and are pretty conservation minded. The only thing I don't like is the "Trophy" aspect of hunting. It seems we only covet the biggest best animals, which after decades weakens the DNA of the remaining animals. Deer are like fleas in some area's and need to be culled, but hunters should take less prominant Bucks, and let those 10+ pointers proliferate. Maybe allow the Trophy Bucks off years in the hunting season, or just issue special tags for them with a very limited amount to be given out. The health of a area's deer population is monitered and these special "Big Buck" tags can be issued in different area's in cycle's.
