Re: David Stern: "Leather ball will return on Jan. 1."

I don't know much about it just that a lot of players don't like it
like shaq and nash..but what's so bad about the new ball anyway?

    $$$$$$

Think about it, the ball companies design this brand new type of ball (yay!), and everybody (NBA players, any kids out there playing competitively and hoping to become a pro, fans, casual B-ball players, etc..) has to go out and buy the synthetically engineered AMAZING Astro-Basketball Humdinger 4000 (TM) for only $129.99 (Get one for each family member!!). Pro Sports, Sports media, and all teams are ultimately about the $$ first and foremost; a distant second is "the game" (which is truly nothing more than spectator entertainment).

They ran the numbers and the new ball is more expensive.

Why didn't stern just listen to the players in the first place when they said they didn't like the new ball. If they wanted experiment with stuff then why not use the D-league? If it worked thereor not then you could of saved alot of drama
