I saw that on the 'Today' show yesterday. I wasn't surprised, I had the same problem when I canceled! They can not take "NO" for an answer!

IT's not just AOL, a lot comanpies keep asking you why when you cancel, and still keep calling you after you have canceled.

Lol...talk about dejavu! I went through the same exact thing. Then I noticed on my bank statements that they took the money out for 3 months after that. Never once got the money back.

Stuff like that makes a company lose business for good.

Re: Customer Tries to Cancel AOL; Gotta Here This!

Funny, a lady at AOL did the same thing to me a couple years ago. She kept asking me to stay, saying she would give it to me for free. I still said no, and she kept saying she would give it to me for free longer.

Then she said she would credit me $50 dollars to my bank account and give me AOL for free for 3 months, so of course I said yes. Can't pass up 50 free dollars. After the 3 months passed I called again and then cancelled the account for good.

What I don't understand is how AOL still charges so much? The software is obsolete and now you can get everything you need through your high-speed provider. Plus, no more spam and crashing from AOL!

Bad form on the part of AOL. Typical though.....it is why I have taken to writing letters cancelling service instead.

Personally, I don't think there is intelligent life on other planets. Why should other planets be any different from this one?

I've had to do that with a music thing that I didn't know I was paying for. Suddenly I was getting charges on my credit card when I hadn't signed up for anything. AOL RIP OFF!

I heard that Mr. Helpful on that tape was arrested for date rape just the other day...apparently, she said "NO!" and he kept on because she just didn't realize that he was "doing it" in her "best interest"!

Now Bubba, his cellmate, is installing a new kind of Internet service into Mr. Helpful...in his best interest, of course! :evil4:
