Re: The Cubs: 99 years of misery
I think this is the year for Cubs fans. Finally after all this time they finally look like all the pieces are in place.
Wait, what the Mets got Santana, never mind then. :-*

Re: The Cubs: 99 years of misery
...Then, during a game at Shea Stadium against the surging Mets, a black cat scampers onto the field and stares at Santo in the batter's box before disappearing under the stands. The Cubs lose 7-1 that day, part of a 1-11 stretch that turns a five-game lead into a 4½-game deficit. The Mets pass the Cubs for first place the next day and never relinquish the lead, eventually winning the division by eight games.
I remember it well. The Cubs had a great team that year...but by the end of August, I think Leo lost whatever hair he had left on his head.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Re: The Cubs: 99 years of misery
I always loved Cubs fans that enjoy blaming other things for all there problems.
Kind of like blaming that guy who caught the foul ball.
Maybe instead of throwing a hissy fit like little children they should have sucked it up and played some baseball, but no they let it get to them and they played cruddy baseball and blamed it on a fan.
Maybe they will win a
championship someday, but I could care less if those $#@hats ever did.
Hey I got an idea, our teams stinks so lets just give a enormous contract to one guy(Soriano) and pretend that's enough to win the world series.

This Cub fan knows that Bartman had less to do with losing that series than Mark Prior bouncing the next pitch 2 feet in front of home plate and losing his shit following that.
Just because some idiot journalist from ESPN chooses to characterize it one way, does not make it so.
I guess a big bad Cubs fan must have ass-raped you in prison to make you so bitter.
Sorry that had to happen - hope he spit on his dick first.

Re: The Cubs: 99 years of misery
I almost wish the cubs would win one, It would give me a reason to dedicate such dislike to them. I really really don't like them, I wish I could but I'm stuck here in whiny-fan land and I can't escape them.

VikesFan787, Thanks for the awesome sig!
