Cross your fingers, please...
Hey, everyone...
My fiancee and I got some great news yesterday that has the potential to be AWESOME news for us (and no, it has nothing to do with a gecko...LOL)
Currently, we're both working in a print shop and running our butts off from light to light (7 pm - 7 am), stacking bundles of ads (up to 40 lbs apiece), washing ink rollers (with a gasoline-like cleaner that KINDA works), picking up THOUSANDS of ads that wind up on the floor after the many machine malfunctions during the night (glossy paper ads that make trying to throw a greased pig look EASY), and just about any other crap that no one else wants to do.
Oh...that's after we make the hour-plus drive into town from out in the sticks where we live with my parents.....and then get to make that drive AGAIN after the 12 hours. LOL
All this glory for $9/hour.....LOL
Well, it was about a month or so ago, we applied for a new WalMart distribution center that's opening up a little nearer to where we live (approx. 45 minute drive). They were hiring for about 600 positions for this place. Yeah, it's HUGE.
Starting BASE pay is $15/hour, with $1 - $2 pay differentials for weekend shifts, night shifts, previous warehouse experience, etc.
It was guesstimated that there was going to be about 3000 applicants trying to get on there, for obvious reasons (and some not so obvious).
Yesterday, Virginia (my fiancee) got a phonecall, but she was busy, so I took the call. Found out it was Walmart, and they wanted to set her up for a pre-employment interview.....then they asked, "Are you Scott?", I said yes, and they set me up for one also!
Virginia's tickled because they called HER "first"...LOL
So, anyway, to make a long story even longer, I need y'all to cross your fingers (and toes), maybe pray to whatever deity you might pray to, do whatever.....to help us land these jobs!!! It would be a HUGE help in us getting out of my folks' hair and setting us up in our own place in Reno.
Thanks in advance!!!

Good luck man. Nothing is better than having a good job to go to in the morning and a T.V. to watch the vikings on.

Thanks, baumy...
Since I posted this late last night, it's probably gotten buried, so I'll bring it back up again in the hopes of getting a few more fingers crossed. LOL
We REALLY need this job!

Best of luck. Things will work out for the best as long as you have faith that they will!
