On the other hand I doubt that lowering the drinking age is going to lessen the amount of alcohol consumed. If you want to get drunk ... being 18 or 21 is not going to make a difference.

It should be 18. Don't know why it was ever changed.

Re: College presidents seek drinking age debate
The drinking age here is 18, the amount i drink hasn't really changed since i turned 18, only thing that has is instead of drinking at bush parties and house parties i drink at bars sometimes instead. i turned 18 when i was still in highschool, which if i didn't only have one class a day at 1pm would probably have been a hinderance.
also, you can do alot more dangerous stuff legally when you turn 18 than drink, like get married or vote

Re: College presidents seek drinking age debate
or how about go to war?
I figure if your old enough to go overseas and have bombs and bullets shot at you, then you should be old enough to have a beer legally.

It should be 16, if your old enough to drive a 2 ton vehicle 70mph down the freeway your old enough to have a beer.

Personally I doesn't even make sense to have a legal age.
Alcohol is accessible to anyone who wants it.
There will always be irresponsible drinkers, all your doing is changing the age when they can be irresponsible.
I bet if people we accustomed to drinking their whole lives and there wasn't such a stigma or intrigue attached to it, there would be a lot less binge drinking and alcohol-related crimes comitted.
I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.
