coaching track
Some of you may know that I have been coaching track and field for my old high school. I mostly coach the JV kids and I help out with some of the varstiy kids. Well tomorrow is our last meet of the year for us. It is is our conference meet and we have won it 6 years in a row. I am hoping we do well. This has been my first year coaching. I have enjoyed every minute of it. After tomorrow I do believe I will be working with the varsity starting saturday when we go to a state meet in stillwater. Our varsity team has been undefeated so far this year in meets. Even though track and field is more of an indiviudal sport it still is important to work as a team. I hope to keep you posted when all this weekends events are over with.

Re: coaching track
Sounds like a great experience. You seem to genuinely enjoy what you are doing. I myself am looking forward to coaching once I get out of college. I am planning on coaching football (obviously), maybe hockey, and track (throwing events...shot put, discus, javeline, etc.), so I can relate to how you feel.
I wish you and your team the best of luck.

Re: coaching track
Congrats and good luck at the same time finnishvike!
In the school district I teach in the varsity track team just won the conference on Tuesday night by 60 some points!
As for me my girls JV softball team's season is over, and it wasn't pretty. I think we finished something like 2-13.
But now it's on to baseball, the best time of the year! We have our first scrimmage on Saturday! I'm pumped!
I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!

Re: coaching track
A former high school football teammate of mine coaches track and field in Pensacola FL....he was lucky enough to have been the coach for Justin Gatlin several years ago...and is extremely proud to have been a part of his progression towards the Olympic and world championships that he now holds.
BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

Re: coaching track
Guys thanks for the luck we needed it. We won our meet yesterday by 2 points.
It is very nerve racking when it comes to the conference meet it reflects how you coached your kids and if you coached them well.
VKG, I believe our varstiy kids won conference by around 60 points. And they won the meet to get into the state meet by over 100 points.
Our varisty team is very solid we have some very good young kids moving up to varsity. That have a ton of potential.
Well I am on my way to the state meet in stillwater this weekend.
