Cavs sign larry hughes, after missing out on redd and allen
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2103569
Well I think the cavs jumped the gun here and threw a ton of money to a player that isn't the style of player they needed, when they lost out on redd and allen.
They needed a shooter(cutino mobley), and hughes isn't that. He is a slasher and a defender. This huge contract will cripple them for years now too.
Not a good start for danny ferry.
Keep making bad moves ferry, so lebron leaves cleveland for LA.
They still need a shooter and to somehow keep Z.

Hughes is a good player but he doesn't fill the needs of the Cavs. I hope it works out for them next season. I like Lebron and want him to have success.
The best part of my day is when I get down on my knees, with my head in my hands, and thank GOD for everything he has given me.

I think Hughes will be great for the Cavs. The defense in Cleveland will improve ten-fold with Hughes and James putting pressure on opposing guards and I think a "shooter" is overrated. Hughes slashing will just give the best passer in the game someone else to hit for easy buckets. I cannot blame Hughes for taking the money and running and also don't blame the Wizards for keeping their pocket-book closed. They cannot offer this guy max-money and that is what it would have taken to keep him.

I was really surprised Redd didn't go to the Cavs, I had a feeling that he would.

Money, it's all about money. Bucks could offer him more, so he stayed. And michael redd is personally a great guy, so that says a lot about the importance of money.
If he wanted to win, cleveland would have been the place to go. They would have been tough with him and lebron together, and really good if they were able to keep Z.

They just needed someone else to score points and move the ball with Lebron.. They got that person with Hughes.. A shooter would have been nice.. But either way they get points.. Bron can do the shooting.. Z in the post.. Larry slashing

No shooters and it is impossible to slash, like hughes does. There is a reason why lebron said he wants a shooter added to this team. There is also a reason they started losing more games after the all star break last year. Teams started to play them differently on D, since they had no shooters around lebron. Teams clogged the lain and made them beat them from outside, which they couldn't. That will still happen with hughes there. Also Z is a FA and will probably not be back next year.
Hughes will improve the team, don't get me wrong. But he isn't the type of player they needed and isn't what lebron wanted. And more importantly, not anywhere near worth the money they gave him. Hughes is gonna kill their cap for 5 years now. They should have used some of that money to resign Z and some to get a shooter like mobley. I think they hit the panic buttom when they lost out on redd and allen, and just threw way too much money at hughes, who didn't fit their need.

I hope the Cavs don't resign Ilgauskus....he's the most slow, overrated Center ever....they could go young with Eddy Curry who keeps getting better every year....including last year, having a career year and leading the muthatrucking BULLS to the playoffs!
Also, The Bucks agreed to terms with the NBA's most improved player award winner last year, Bobby Simmons who was good for 16 points per game last year. Simmons, Redd, Mason, Bogut, the Bucks are gonna be perdy good next year...maybe even a playoff team....we'll just have to see about that....
ARE THE T-WOLVES or SIXERS gonna make a move already....dang!
