    Camera/photographic stores in Minneapolis

Anyone with a knowledge of the shops in downtown Minneapolis area tell me if there are any good photograpic stores there at all - particularly those which stock Nikon and Canon DSLRs?
I've been looking at the MoA site and there doesn't seem to be any decent stores there which surprised me.
Only I'm considering picking up a a DSLR whilst I'm over due the good exchange rate, plus I'm over as the sales all start at Thanksgiving so maybe pick up a bargain as well

    any help appreciated

Just make sure you go to the Camera Shop before the Mall of America with your wife...

Once you get in the Mall, I don't think the exchange rate will matter that much, when your wife gets her shopping groove on..... ;D

Anglo, I take it you are in town for only a few days.

I wish I would have known you had this question earlier.

You need to look at the Nikon D200 or the new Nikon D80.

    I have the D200.
It recently went down in price. It is a great camera.

PM me if you don't find what you are looking for today.
I know where the deal is at.
You can get teh same deal when you get back to the UK, even with the delivery cost.

tell me about it, having been there for a few years now she is fully aware of what shops there are and where they are located. I can see them looming now, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, Macys.. just for starters .. lol

good job I always have a pair of comfy walking shoes on as I'll need them !
maybe this year we'll make it to Hooters for lunch
    ;D

I must have missed something Anglo, so you're making it in for a game?
    Which one?

I've been extremely happy with my Canon EOS 20D which I purchased at National Camera Exchange.
I got a Canon mainly because I could use all my lenses from my 35mm Canon, but I've been pleasantly surprised with its performance.

I forgot to mention that Photography is my profession.

If you buy a camera in the states, the warranty will be a US warranty and if you have to send a camera in for repair, it will have to be shipped internationally ($$$).

    Good luck on your purchase.

that did answer one question that I did have about that as i wasn't sure if the warranty would be valid outside the US, so will have to consider that as well.

I had seen the Nikon D80 and its just a little out of my price range, plus I'm not sure I would use it enough to warrant the extra money as I'm not out every weekend taking pics - much as I'd like to !
At the moment I'm leaning towards the Nikon D70s as opposed to the Canon 350D mainly due to the Canon feeling a little too small to comfortably hold. Also have heard better reviews regarding Nikkor lenses to go with it.
However I'm open to any further information or experience that you may have on any of them.
If you have info on any deals that I can get even from here then I'd be grateful to know about them

I'm over for the Cardinals game in November - so hoping to see another win !

    thanks guys !
