How big of a family reunion is it?
It's my dad's family and he has 14 siblings...so just that alone with the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids makes it one heck of a party. My uncle that used to live in Minnesota (his kids still live there and his daughter was the cousin that was at the tailgate for the Packer game) is hosting it at his house out in the country. He is into karaoke big-time (he actually has regular gigs at nightclubs where they pay him to perform) and he and his buddy have a mega-system that they set up and the family karaokes all day and night...alot of my family sings pretty good, so there is no shortage of willing performers. Of course, the food is both plentiful and delicious, so I plan to gain five pounds while I am there. I have missed almost all of these annual reunions since I have moved away from Louisiana in 1987, so it will be a real treat!

There are libraries in Louisiana :?:

Have fun and Happy New Year to you and your family ccasion5: ccasion7:
They had libraries in Wisconsin...which was even MORE surprising! Actually, my hometown library has one of the most extensive Cajun genealogy collections in the world...my town is pretty small, but it is one of the oldest in Louisiana.

Rooster gumbo!!! If you ever have some old fighters that can no longer hack it or ones that get killed in a fight, make them into gumbo...roosters make the BEST gumbo...you can cook them forever, but once the gumbo is done, the meat is tender and delicious!!!

    Cajun,

I believe that, because, in the Philippines when the Rooster loses the fight the winner gets to take the other home.

The women then make a speical celebratory type soup with it...

Man, that soup is awesome......Taste Great

A Capon is nothing but a rooster also....

Where are you in Kentucky? Anywhere near Louisville or Danville?

I live in eastern Kentucky and as you probably know, Kentucky is VERY wide. Louisville is really far out west so I'm about 4 hours from there. I'm not quite sure where Danville is but I'm guessing it's out west also.

Cajun, are you flying on a regular airline or is it gonna be a private purple jet with your own private party?
