    Buying Jerseys off eBay

Hey everyone, I was recently thinking of buying an authentic jersey off ebay, and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this question:

I noticed some of the Jeresys being sold have smaller numbers in the front than they do on the back (for an authentic-stitched Jersey).
Is that typical for NFL-licensed authentic Jerseys, or is that a hint that the Jersey might be fake?
From what I can tell, they look perfectly legit otherwise, but the size difference in the numbers seemed odd to me.

Hopefully someone with a newer authentic jersey cna help me out.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

The vast majority of the "authentic" jerseys on ebay are not actually authentic.
In fact, I don't think I have ever seen one that is a true authentic, unless it is an autographed one with a COA.
That doesn't mean that they are poor quality (I have an AD one that I got off from ebay), it just means that they were not actually made by Reebok of licensed by the NFL.

Also, if you are looking for jerseys on ebay, you might want to look here:
    http://www.sportsjerseyauction.com/athletic-jerseys/nfl-football-jerseys

The guy that owns that site gives a kick back to PP.O.

How do you know if they are authentic?
Especially if they have tags and the NFL+Reebok logos?

Nevertheless is the smaller numbers in the front common?

I have bought several off from ebay, and I suspect that every one of them is fake, although I have a hard time telling the difference.
As far as I know, the numbers on the front and back should be the same size.
I believe all of mine are (although I am not at home, so I can't tell for sure).

There are subtle differences that can alert you to them being a fake.
In the Vikings jerseys, the rounding on the numbers are difference, and the edge on some numbers (like the 2) hangs lower on the fake ones.

    Re: Buying Jerseys off eBay

the "fake" ones, are more blue than the real authentic jerseys.
As well, the numbers a little more rounded off on a real one

    fake

    real

Also if you look at the N at the end of Peterson, you'll notice it has a little hook at the bottom on the fake one, that is not there on the real one

However, the fake ones usually sell for about 20 or 30 bucks, so if you can't afford to spend 100+ on a real one, they are fine.
You are still supporting your favourite team by wearing their colours.

The colors are actually identical on most of the ebay ones (all the ebay ones that I own), the bluish difference is probably due more to picture quality.

    EDIT:
I take it back, on my away AD jersey, the purple color is actually a little lighter than on a actual authentic one.
But that is the only one I can think of.

    Re: Buying Jerseys off eBay

my friend has a fake AD jersey and it is very blue.
We went to the Chargers game and you could tell who had real ones and who had fake ones.
The fake ones are still very good quality, they're just not authentic Reebok jerseys.

Yeah, being as they are fake, there are bound to be some that aren't quite as good.
I have a purple "authentic" from last year (Greenway), and you absolutely cannot tell the difference in color.
You can tell on the number rounding though.
I bet that because AD jerseys were so hugely popular this year that there are a lot more low quality ones going around...

    Close, but no cigar.
Notice the letter "E" on the PETERSON in your "real" jersey.
It has a flat vertical line instead of the indent which you will notice on the real authentic jersey.
The "real" jersey you posted is just another variation of a knock-off authentic.

Also, this topic has been re-hashed umpteen times on these forums.
In addition, I could care less if fans buy the knock-offs, when I go to the game as long as you are wearing a Vikings jersey, it makes no difference whether its authentic, knock-off, or screen print.
As long as you are wearing purple and gold it's all good to me.

    Here is the real jersey.

    Chuch.
