Bull's-eye! US Navy nails spy satellite

Navy missile nails toxic spy satellite in the Pacific

WASHINGTON - Bull's-eye!

A missile fired from a Navy warship hit a dying spy satellite passing 130 miles overhead in the Pacific in an effort to prevent its toxic fuel tank from crashing to Earth, a Pentagon source said Wednesday....

"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

Thats awesome.
Some countries spend years trying to get a missle off the ground, and we take one of ours and completely reprogram it and change its mission parameters in a couple weeks and successfully deploy it on the first try.

Another reason I am proud to be an American and have our Military/Manufacturing complex.

Blue and Gold, Proud to Serve.

Anchors Aweigh (Marrdro's version)

Stand, Navy, out to sea, Fight our battle cry;
We'll never change our course, So vicious foe
steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll out the TNT (Missile), Anchors Aweigh.
Sail on to victory
And sink their bones (Satellites) to Davy Jones, hooray!

Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more,
Here's wishing you a happy voyage home.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

The reason IMO they shot this thing down was to send a message...nothing to do with the fuel cell that contained toxic material.

They could have easily burned up the remaining fuel by either just engaging one thruster and let the satellite spin in place, or reverse the two so they are blasting away from each other until all fuel was spent.

They wanted to show the world that they were capable of blasting a target 150 miles overhead traveling at a speed of 1,000 mph with one swift shot.
Don't fuck with big bruda...

Very impressive.
