    She has a psychiatric illness.
My guess is she suffers from Bipolar Affective Disorder.
While it seems like an easy solution to just "lock her up".
The reality is their needs to be precedence to detain her.
Its called a Emergency Detainment down here in Wisconsin.
The thing that must be proven is that she is a danger to self or others.
This determination is made by a judge.
It seems like now the judge has reason to do so for her own safety.

I've worked in a Psychiatric hospital for over five years now.
I've seen this played out countless times.
Its an exhausting and scary ordeal for families.
Luckily she is getting treatment now.

I am getting sick of the bitch being on the news so much.
As if she is that important to our society...but I guess she is.

Just like our society like the winning story, we like it just as much when the winners (or losers) fall.
    It is the tragedy factor.
Tragedies have been a literary phenom way before we had TV and instant news on "the net," that phenom was in the form of fictional stories in books.

Now we don't have to make it up in books and we don't have to spend hours reading those books to find out about the tragedy, it unfolds over time on the screen.
As long as that star wants to fall, we will watch.

I try like hell not to pay attention to it but a piece of trashy news hits me on occasion.

Doe it not seem to you that the Bipolar excuse is used more & more frequently these years as the root of the problem? It seems to be an easy way to defend someones actions.

I see more & more alcoholics being diagnosed with it as a cause to their problems instead of getting down to what might be the real root of the problem.

I try to ignore stuff like this as well but it is human nature to at least peak.

Just my opinion/observations, but it seems to me that most people who get wrapped around the axel on celebrities lives appear to lack one of thier own if you ask me.

I find that a hell of alot more depressing than the individual they are following.

You are actually right on about that.
Their is a movement in AODA services that states a lot of alcoholics suffer from it.
I think that the jury is still out on that point of view.
I think its dangerous to ever completely diagnosis a whole group of people based on a few examples.
This being said my thing on Spears is purely speculation based on her erratic behavior and activities.

More drama from the Human Garbage Can! I hope the skank O.Dees. Then we will have to watch "remenbrance" crap. Hopefully, Hilton or Lohan will feel slighted by all the publicity and try to one-up brittany!
