Our only real sports hero passes away. Who will ever fill those shoes?

I can't believe you actually said that. The guy has a history of heart disease/high blood pressure in his family, and he was obese in the last couple years. Steriods? You're nuts.

the guy was overweight and his family has a history of problems with dieing young..not every baseball player that dies took steroids..kirby was not on steroids and i will guarentee that they will never ever find any trace of steroid use in his body..i dont understand how you could think this has got to be steroids..the guy hit .318, it isnt like he depended on homeruns being his only means of productivity..he was also a gold glove center fielder..you must not have ever seen him play to make assumptions like that

Even though I am a lifelong Yankees fan, I could not help but like and respect Kirby...he is a sports hero in every sense of the word...and the current players would do good by themselves to try and emulate his style, work ethic and passion for the game both on and off the field.

RIP Kirby...you will be missed by ALL baseball fans.

this is generally what all canadians think about baseball simply because it is america's sport..if american's do it, they must be cheating, thats the canadian point of view..they just have no respect for anything american..this guy clearly isnt a true baseball fan, and he never saw kirby puckett play

No offense, but that is probably the most uneducated thing I have heard in a long, long time. The type of steroids that have a correlation with increased heart attack and stroke are Glucocorticoids. This family contains things such as prednisone and cortisone - you know, the ones that are used to controll swelling and pain. The "steroids" you were probably referring to are anabolic steroids, which are used to enhance muscular development, and are illegal.

Here is some more info on Glucocorticoids if you want to read up.
