Re: Breaking News: Kirby Puckett dead at 44...
Here's a great short article from Jeff Passan at Yahoo! Sports:
Puckett's abrupt ending
Man, I really miss the guy. I just teared up twice this morning seeing his homer in Game 6 and a montage of his career.PPO Ambassador, Defender of the Purple Faith and Guardian of the Gates of Valhalla

Even though I am not a huge baseball fan I do remember the passion and fun Kirby Puckett brought to the game. He was a class act through and through. REST IN PEACE KIRBY!!!!

Like my POPEYE Tattoo says " I

It is great they are doing a daylong tribute to Puckett on KFAN radio today (can listen live at www.kfan.com) it is really a sad day in the state of Minnesota.
Cool tribute brought out from Mark Rosen at Spring Training said that Torri Hunter is especially taking it rough and will play the season with a Puckett jersey in his locker and will play the season as a tribute to him."Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn t work hard."

I think that with some athletes, even if you do not even follow that athletes sports, you just know what kind of an impact that player not only has on his sport, but the nation. Kirby was that guy!

A baseball writer once said that all new players should be required to take a course in "Kirby Puckett 101", and it would prevent a lot of player problems.
Heck, the NBA and NFL also.

Re: Breaking News: Kirby Puckett dead at 44...
This is a sad day in Minnesota, Kirby, was my hero growing up. I remember listening to the world series in 87, when I was 9, and I remember the great moments he had in both of the World Series, I am hopeing that they will have a memorial in Phoenix, since I live in S.D., It is only a 6 hour drive. R.I.P. KIRBY!!!!!

Did Kirby Puckett partake in the roid rage of that era? Would roids cause a stroke at the age of 44?
