I don't think any act could top last year's show.

:P Sorry not a big Tomm petty Fan. I respect him as a musician but just not a fan.
Tom Petty isn't my favorite singer either, but the performance was amazing.
Better than any performance I have seen at halftime in a long time, maybe ever.
I persoanly thought the Prince Halftime show was great

This is two years in a row... I'm glad to see they are lining up actual TALENT to play the Super Bowl now... not just pop stars from the cover of Rolling Stone (and to think, that used to be a respectable publication...)
    Agreed.
I'm only 19 and I think the boss will put on an awesome show.
Thats been 5 decent performers in a row, McCartney, Rolling Stones, Prince, Petty and now Springsteen.

I guess they want to get away from young singers who might do bad things (see superbowl XXXVIII), like Jessica Simpson, Janet Jackson, Jsutin Timberlake, Kid Rock and P Diddy in one show,

Prince was awesome...esp. when he surprised the H#$L out of me with the Foo Fighters cover.

The Boss is a great choice

Oh man... you're right... That makes it 3 years in a row!

    That was an awesome performance!

C Mac's right...we are in for an incredible show. If you've never seen the Boss, and I have to think you haven't by your posts, he is the most energetic performer I've ever seen...by far the greatest concert I ever saw was during his "Darkness" tour. (And I have to believe he will perform his older stuff, and not get too political.)

I'm just hoping to see a performer under the age of 40 again.

yea, seems like they've been sticking with that since the Justin Timberlake / Janet Jackson fiasco.

Well quite honestly, I'd still rather see Janet's titty with a nipple ring on it rather than Springsteen's nipple or Prince's penis guitar.

I liked the Prince halftime too, but I am a pretty big Prince fan, and I have seen him perform live.
His halftime show compared to one of his actual performances was lacking IMHO.
Of course, I might be partial to Petty because I actually got to see it live... from what I saw on the DVR, the broadcast didn't do it justice.
Perhaps all of the halftime shows are like that.
