Aaron was a classy player.
I didn't want him to break Ruth's record either but unfortunately he did.
I was hoping he would trip over third base and break his fibula before he could touch home plate.
I've always hated Bonds.
I know he was great in his day and despite all the "accusations" he is one of the best of all time.
But let's face it, no one goes from about 170 pounds to 220 without taking roids in that short of time.
Before I get attacked those weights I mentioned are guesses.
But his body totally changed in a very short period of time.
IMO the guy is classless and only cares about himself.
His father was awesome.
I watched him when I was a child and liked watching him play.
It's unfortunate his son didn't take after him.
Sorry for the rant.

The comedian who played Arliss "the sports agent" did a show for HBO called Assume the Position.
Basically he said that pop culture forms history, assume the position from how they were looking at it at the time.
If it wasn't this pop culture out cry (push by the govt) we wouldn't be giving two poohies about this topic and it would be a huge question mark for" some" people that care to think about it.
It has been thrust upon us and is a big issue.
Right now, all the voters are assuming the position that Big Mac, Sosa, and Bonds were on Roids the WHOLE time they were playing.

All I am saying is that Baseball didn't have a clear cut rule, you can't keep these guys out of the hall of fame, if their numbers are deserving.
There is a clear cut rule and a precedent (8 men out) for gambling on baseball, Rose can sit on the outside looking in.
Baseball still hasn't made Roids a serious issue.
When they say lifetime ban for positive testing, then it will be taken seriously, but the problem I have with that is there is a chance for someone to get duped.
Pop culture is going to dictate whether thought to be roid players get in or not, not MLB itself.
