BLV's Paddlefishing Pictures
I just got back this afternoon from three days of paddlefishing.
There were six of us and we all got one.
The biggest one caught when we were there was 108 pounds, ours were a little small.
Mine was 18 lbs

Nice catches BLV. I was wondering where you went off too. I never heard of fishing soley for paddle fish. Where did you go & what do the bite on?
There are several in the Mississippi, but I've never caught one. I've thrown several back in the river from the seine nets though.
Other than the skates I caught in the ocean, the oddest fish I caught here was a 3 ft. eel.

There are few places you can go to catch them, but we were at the confluence where the Yellowstone and Missouri rivers come together on the North Dakota Montana border.
You are only allowed one, and the season is from May 1 - June1 or until 1,000 of them are caught.
They don't bite on anything.
They are bottom feeder so you just keep casting untill you snag one.

Fight it until it wears itself out. And then if the line breaks, it breaks.

You can only snag them from shore, trolling isn't allowed.
When you get them close to shore most people gaf them in the side.

When you get a big one near the shore, you jump in an wrestle them in the rest of the way, like Ned & I did when went fishing for catfish.

Here's Ned's boat. The one we use when we go fishing for the big cats. It isn't very pretty, but it has all the comforts of home.......
